Why We Sold SpaceX (SPCX) at $211 - And What We're Doing Next

Don't get caught holding the bag. Discover our next two swing trades for the market's hottest stock

Miguel Portillo

First off, a massive congratulations to all our members who followed our recent SpaceX (SPCX) trade!

When the stock finally went public, we immediately issued a strong buy alert, and the majority of our members secured a beautiful entry point between $155 and $160. Then, this past Sunday, we spotted the pre-market price surging to $211. We didn't hesitate or get greedy - we told everyone to sell right at the Monday open, locking in incredible gains. What an amazing trade, and a huge win for the community!

But that brings us to the million-dollar question:
Will SPCX see $200 again anytime soon?

To understand why we urged our members to take profits at $211, you have to look past the rockets and focus on the math. At a share price over $200, SpaceX’s valuation reached a level that made it larger than Amazon. Let that sink in for a moment. Amazon is a money-printing machine that generates upwards of $30 to $40 billion in operating cash flow every single quarter. Meanwhile, SpaceX, despite its incredible technological achievements, is estimated to be losing roughly $4 billion a quarter to fund its ambitious capital-intensive projects.

Right now, you have to treat SpaceX like a meme stock. Similar to GameStop during its massive run-up, the majority of SPCX's recent price action is being driven by retail hype and media frenzy, not by underlying business fundamentals. When stock prices detach from reality that violently, smart money takes profits. That is exactly why we told our members to sell above $211.

The SpaceX trade is far from over

We will keep closely monitoring the SPCX chart and order flow for you, doing the heavy lifting so you can focus on the important things in life. Currently, we have our eyes on two distinct upcoming opportunities:

  1. The Nasdaq 100 Swing: SPCX is slated for its Nasdaq 100 inclusion on July 7th. We are watching closely for a sudden dip before that date. If the market gives us a discount, it could provide a lucrative, short-term swing trade opportunity as mandatory institutional buying kicks in.

  2. The Post-Earnings Short: As we move toward the end of July, we will actively look to start building a short position. SpaceX's Q2 earnings call is expected to happen around August 11th (latest by August 14th). Immediately following that, a massive 20-30% insider share unlock is scheduled to hit the market. That flood of new supply meeting the open market is the perfect setup for a downside move.

As the legendary investor Benjamin Graham (Warren Buffett's mentor) once said: "In the short run, the market is a voting machine, but in the long run, it is a weighing machine."

Right now, the market is just voting on SpaceX's hype, but eventually, the fundamental weight of their cash burn will dictate the price. Navigating these volatile transitions requires deep market experience. That is exactly what you pay us for, and as this week's SPCX profits proved - it is paying off!
